Welcome to the CLIP index to the shipping registers of the Isle of Man.

The registers held at Manx National Heritage Library in Douglas provide comprehensive details of ships registered in Manx ports during the 19th century. They show details of the ships themselves and the many people involved with them - builders, owners and masters.

The project, one of the first of its kind, makes these documents readily accessible to researchers in maritime and family history.

facilities to search by vessel name and by the names of individuals;
notes on the indexes, registration of shipping and the Manx records;
